"Monica Brant is the most important figure in the history of the women's fitness movement", says Jim Rosenthal, Senior Writer of
Weider Publications. Since her first appearance as a cover girl for
Muscle & Fitness Magazine in November 1994, she has gained momentum and is currently at the
top of the female fitness world. This is evident by her unprecedented national and international magazine exposure - over 100 covers and almost as many articles / interviews to this date!
Along with her "normal" schedule of training, traveling, competing, answering emails, booking appearances, fulfilling orders, making
trips to the post office and updating her website, Monica has positioned herself to bring her drive and enthusiasm for fitness into the "mainstream." The first step toward this endeavor was signing a 3-year deal with Bradford Licensing Associates, in
which the company was tasked with promoting Monica Brant's intellectual properties. One of the earliest of such projects included the publication of a book, released in association with Sports Publishing, LLC, titled "Monica Brant's Secrets to Staying Fit
& Loving Life!" (Release Date: Oct. 2005!). Other projects to follow: Official Monica Brant Products, including workout and training DVDs, and quite possibly an apparel line.
Taking a step backward in time, Monica Brant has grown up accustomed to hard work! Raised on a 20-acre ranch where her mom served as a
professional horse trainer for 15 years, Monica was riding and showing horses of all disciplines since the age of 7! To this very day, she still rides and enthusiatically enjoys the equestrian sport - "Jumpers" being her favorite! Along with her love of
horses, Monica Brant was also a zealous athlete in high school, running sprints during track season and playing volleyball. During her sophomore year, she was on the Texas State Mile Relay winning team, running her leg of the quarter mile in under 60 seconds! After
graduating, Monica decided to attend a fine arts college, studying Equestrian Science & Marketing. Along with a commitment for higher education, she took her first steps toward recognition in the fitness industry by competing in local and statewide bikini contests, while
working part time as a San Antonio Budweiser girl. Winning a brand new automobile - a Mustang, no less - was her top prize in one particular contest! Such well-deserved awards helped build her confidence in the sport, assuring her that she had what it took
to be on stage and in the spotlight.
In 1991, Monica Brant started lifting weights on a full-time basis, inspired by photos of one Marla Duncan, who at the time won first
place in a professional fitness competition. So impressed was Monica by the beauty and physique of Marla Duncan, that she wanted to try her hand at the sport of physique development! Just a few months later, Monica Brant competed and won her first show, right off the
bat! After gaining experience from competing for a few years in the State of Texas, Monica relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1995, where she turned her hobby into a full-blown career. Earning her Pro Card in the
IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilders) since her move out west, Monica Brant has
consistently competed in several contests per year through 1999. After competing at the Fitness Olympia in 1999, Monica Brant decided to retire from the competitive stage, however still being continually booked for appearances and presentations around the world
(Germany, Italy, Austria, France, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Africa and Argentina, to name just a dozen) while promoting a healthy and fit lifestyle!
Then, in the year 2000, a door opened up for Monica to produce, promote and host her own fitness show, the annual NPC Monica Brant Fitness
Classic, which is a a nationally-qualifying fitness contest that presents awards and gives recognition to hard-working and dedicated female fitness athletes!
After taking a nearly 4-year hiatus from professional physique competitions, Monica Brant threw herself back into the women's fitness
spotlight, which has proven to be more triumphant that ever! A veteran to the Olympia stage, Monica won the Miss Fitness Olympia in 1998 (which was held in Nice, France). Historically speaking, she is the first athlete ever to successfully compete
in more than one division of the Olympia competition! Many aspiring female fitness athletes and competitors follow in Monica's footsteps, emulating her pathways to success!
Monica Brant's primary mission, tempered by her life-long experiences and triumphs, is to empower women all over the world with the
knowledge and motivation to shape their bodies, improve their level of fitness and ultimately change their lives!
